Background work in a nutshell.

I’ll start with a series of questions, which I will then answer for you:
Who wants to start their day with a delicious plate of pancakes???
Approximately everyone.
Who wants to feel like they just consumed a million processed carbs all before 10am and still be hungry 30 minutes later?
…
Right. Moving on.
I have this friend, let’s call him a boyfriend, let’s call him “Zack,” and let’s say he has decided to start eating cleaner with me. Recently, he has let me in on what I never noticed was a total obsession of his: Banana and Peanut Butter. Now, I’ve seen him make the occasional PB&B sandwich, or a pre-workout PB smeared B (I’m sure there’s a TWSS in there), but I had no idea how bad it had gotten. He loves it. Like, he has declared his love for it a few times a day for the past week. I can’t blame him, though; it’s a good one.
So in honor of he who is still sleeping the morning away, likely dreaming about the combination, I’m going to share with you a recipe inspired by his intense passion for Peanut Butter-Banana.
Peanut Butter & Banana Pre-Workout Breakfast Protein Pancakes
or…PB&BPBPP. Yeah.

Yield: 4 (If you’re me, you’ll eat all of them. If you’re a normal person, you can probably share with a friend.)
DISCLAIMER: These are protein pancakes that use almost none of the typical pancake ingredients. Therefore, they are much denser than typical fluffier pancakes. If this bothers you, I urge you to get over it try them anyway because they are delicious.
Ingredients:
-3/4 Cup Whole Oats
-2 Egg Whites
-6 oz Fat-Free Greek Yogurt
-Splash of Vanilla Extract (Think 1/2 teaspoon)
-1 Tbsp Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
-1/4 Tsp Baking Soda
-1 Banana
-1 Tbsp Natural Crunchy Peanut Butter
Directions:
I just typed “pancake” 11 12 times.
Now it looks weird.
Yep.

Allison Williams, one of the stars of HBO’s new show “Girls”, stopped by the office today. I got to meet her in the lobby and take her up and so I could tell her quickly that my favorite line so far is, “Well, Joy Lin knows Photoshop.” Also I told her that this show speaks to my life—they just…
Hah, funny because I was just on set with Lilo and….an entire room of people went silent because we couldn’t handle it. I feel this to the max.
…and I already feel so much more energetic, alert, and like all my workouts aren’t going down the drain!! :)
For the last few years, I’ve eaten pretty well. But I have such a soft spot for dessert. Anything chocolate, cookies, brownies…you name it. But now that my busy schedule has forced my workouts to be much shorter, that soft spot was starting to actually manifest itself. So I made the commitment to give all that up for awhile, as well as other items that I knew I shouldn’t be consuming. Maybe not forever, but at least until I can feel better about my willpower around that stuff.
I’m not trying to say I have a huge problem, but I’m incredibly tired of working my abs ‘til I’ve made a puddle of sweat and having zero definition. We all know there’s only one way to get a nice tummy and that’s to lower your body fat percentage. So here’s to lots of chicken breasts and vegetables and hopefully some vlines! ;)
I’m going to be posting some of my recipes here in case you feel like joining in! I read a quote that went something like “if you want an exciting body, you have to eat boring food.” I don’t really agree; the things I have come up for lately to go with my clean eating have been pretty dang delicious…have any of you had similar good experiences with eating clean?
Saw this in Cosmo! It’s so funny and so true!
MALIA!!!! Your hilariousness has been reblogged!
